Below is a brief summary of topics and activities explored during Leadership Days in October to December, 2017:
Leadership Day #1, October: Laying the Groundwork for Leading
Where: MNP Place in Nanaimo
Facilitators: David Gouthro and Jesse Kemp
Topics: Leading Self and “The Courage to Lead”
Takeaways: Cohort Values list, “Someone Should” buttons and the legendary noseflutes!
Leadership Day #2, November: Navigating Teams
Where: Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort and Conference Centre, Parksville. Takeaways: LVI Curriculum members Maarten van Wamel and Randel Wright ran a Marketplace activity, after which project teams formed and Team Charter Agreements were developed.
Leadership Day #3, December: Project Dynamics
Where: VIU Nanaimo Campus
Takeaways: Project Teams unveil their project concepts to an LVI Task Force comprised of LVI board, alumni and volunteers. The cohort will enjoy a Q&A Session with media personality Bruce Williams and a project management session with Executive Coach (and LVI Past Board Chair) Laura McCafferty.
