What is LVI?

Leadership Vancouver Island is a community-focused, grassroots leadership development program that aims to inspire and build capacity for outstanding leadership, learning and service.

With a mission of delivering transformational personal and professional development experiences, Leadership Vancouver Island has evolved into a highly regarded and uniquely effective leadership training program that caters to aspiring and practicing leaders of all backgrounds and experience levels. Designed specifically for adult learners, the LVI program provides valuable opportunities for participants to practice and integrate new learning in a safe, supportive group environment while still challenging even the most experienced managers and communicators.

Leadership Vancouver Island helps emerging leaders, their teams and their communities address today’s complex challenges while demonstrating the power of collaboration to create long-term positive change.

Since it’s inception in 2005, LVI has graduated over 300 leaders, many of whom have gone on to found companies, take on leadership roles within their organizations, or gain positions in upper-level management or local government. In communities all over Vancouver Island, LVI Alumni are contributing to the health and growth of our region. This has made LVI the go-to leadership development program for many community-minded or highly motivated individuals, as well as Island businesses, local government and non-profit organizations who want to build leadership capacity within their teams.

Our Purpose

Fostering Leadership Development

Leadership Vancouver Island promotes and builds capacity for outstanding personal, business and community leadership. The program is open to anyone who is interested in developing their personal or interpersonal leadership and/or community development.

Raising Community Awareness

We are committed to preparing individuals to be effective leaders in their homes, their workplaces, and their communities by equipping them with an understanding of interpersonal and community issues, challenges, alternatives and options.

Building Innovative Communities

Communities that are able to establish a widely shared sense of purpose and excitement are in a stronger position to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. This requires ongoing grassroots effort that engages a cross section of community leaders and stakeholders.
